What to do with David Montgomery in the Wild Card round of the 2021 NFL playoffs

We go over the fantasy football and DFS outlook of David Montgomery ahead of the Bears Wild Card matchup against the Saints in the 2021 NFL Playoffs.

One of the main reasons why the Chicago Bears were able to stay in playoff contention was head coach Matt Nagy finally committing to run and giving second-year running back David Montgomery. Montgomery has been one of the best running backs in the second-half and will need to have a good performance against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.

Fantasy Football analysis: Bears RB David Montgomery, $6900

Since Week 12 of the season, David Montgomery has scored at least 20 fantasy points in six-straight games. The former second-round pick has also recorded seven rushing touchdowns in Chicago’s last five games.

Last week against the Green Bay Packers, Montgomery had 69 rushing yards on 22 carries and a touchdown, along with a season-high nine receptions for 63 yards. For his efforts, he was rewarded with 28.2 fantasy points. In the last three games, Montgomery has received 25.6 carries per game.

This Sunday, he’ll be going up against a stingy Saints’ defense that is only allowing 93.9 rushing yards per game, good for fourth in the NFL. The Saints also rank first against running backs (OPRK).
