Game status: Antonio Gibson is ACTIVE for Washington’s Wild Card round game against the Bucs.
The Washington Football Team has listed running back Antonio Gibson as questionable on the official injury report ahead of Saturday’s Wild Card game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Gibson is still dealing with a bout of turf toe that’s been bothering him for a few weeks now. However, he was practicing on Wednesday and Thursday this week, in a limited role, and has been playing through it for the last two weeks of the regular season.
Fantasy impact: Antonio Gibson (toe)
There’s little chance that Gibson will miss this game, despite his injury status. He’s also been clear that his toe has bothered him less after each of his last two games. In fact, he carried the ball 19 times for 75 yards in his team’s Week 17 win over Philadelphia to secure the division title.
A bigger issue for Gibson’s fantasy football outlook this week is the Bucs defense. It’s one of the toughest units in the NFL when it comes to bottling up running backs—opposing players at the position are averaging just 3.36 yards per carry against them. And with Washington big underdogs in this one, there might not be many chances to run the ball.
