The United States Grand Prix is back this year after a one-year COVID-19 absence. The Formula One race was canceled last year during the pandemic, but the green flag will drop Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. ET at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas. The race will air on ESPN.
Lewis Hamilton enters race week as the favorite to win at DraftKings Sportsbook. He’s installed at -135 and is followed by Max Verstappen at +135. As usual in F1, it’s a significant drop from there with Valterri Bottas next at +1600. Sergio Perez (+2000) and Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris (both +4000) follow to round out the top five odds.
Qualifying is scheduled for Saturday afternoon with the hour-long process starting at 5 p.m. on ESPNEWS. Hamilton is the favorite to have the fastest time, installed at -105. Verstappen follows at +190.
It’s not surprising Hamilton is favored. He and Verstappen dominate the circuit, but he has been particularly impressive at the US Grand Prix. He finished second in 2019 and third in 2018, but prior to that won the race four straight years and five of the previous six years. The race was not held in 2008 through 2011, but Hamilton won it in 2007 as well.
