The Brooklyn Nets and Milwaukee Bucks will face off this Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. ET on TNT as part of the NBA’s opening-night doubleheader. The Nets will be without Kyrie Irving, who is away from the team indefinitely. Meanwhile, the Bucks will be healthy and ready to defend their title after their championship banner is unveiled and championship rings are distributed.
We take a look at some of the best bets for this NBA season-opener between the Nets and Bucks, with odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.
Pick ATS: Bucks +1.5
DraftKings Sportsbook has Brooklyn as a 1.5-point favorite for Tuesday’s opener against the Bucks. Defending champions are 7-3 on opening night over the past 10 seasons, which bodes well for Milwaukee. Additionally, Milwaukee returns mostly the same team from last postseason and shouldn’t have a problem with early-season chemistry and cohesion. The Bucks should cover the spread.
During the Eastern Conference semis matchup between these two teams last season, the highest point total reached 226, which took overtime to get to during Game 7 of that series. Defensive game plans won't be as detailed in Game 1 of the season as the playoffs, obviously, but it also shouldn’t be expected that these players will be firing on all cylinders offensively yet. DraftKings Sportsbook’s line is at 237.5 total points, which feels high. Make a play on the under.
