Courtland Sutton avoids COVID-19 list, will play in Week 17

Broncos wide receivers dealing with COVID-19, but Sutton has been cleared to play

NFL: DEC 19 Bengals at Broncos Denver Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton (14) looks on during a game between the Denver Broncos and the Cincinnati Bengals at Empower Field at Mile High on December 19, 2021 in Denver, Colorado.

Saturday update: Some good news for the Broncos offense, as Sutton has been cleared to play against the Chargers on Sunday. It doesn’t look like Jerry Jeudy or Tim Patrick will be able to go, giving Sutton a likely big workload.

Friday update: Sutton’s COVID-19 test was unconfirmed, per Mike Klis. Klis says that we should know his true status by tomorrow.

Friday update: Five players were added to the Denver Broncos COVID-19 list, but none of them were Sutton despite head coach Vic Fangio saying there was a possibility he would be added. This likely doesn’t get Sutton out of the woods quite yet, but it looks like there may be a chance he avoids the list.

The Denver Broncos wide receivers’ room is a hot bed for COVID-19, as Tim Patrick, Jerry Jeudy and now possibly Courtland Sutton have landed on the COVID-19 list. We say “possibly” for Sutton because head coach Vic Fangio told reporters that Sutton “may” be added to the list, per Mike Klis.
