How and what to watch for No. 9 Virginia vs. Georgia Tech

The Virginia Cavaliers will try for the season sweep over the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on Wednesday night.

In one of several games Top-25 games on Wednesday, the No. 9-ranked Virginia Cavaliers will play the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets at 7 p.m. ET on ACC Network. These two teams played each other on Jan. 23, where the Cavaliers escaped with a 64-62 win.

Virginia (13-3, 9-1) is coming off of a 73-66 victory over the Pittsburgh Panthers on Saturday for their second-straight win. In that game, Sam Hauser scored 23 points, including 10 in the second half alone on an efficient 8-of-9 shooting from the field and 3-of-4 from three-point range. The Cavs had four players in double figures, shot 53.2 percent from the field and 50 percent from three-point range. Virginia did a great job on defense as well, limiting the Panthers to 28.6 shooting from distance.

Georgia Tech (9-6, 5-4) is coming off of a comeback 82-80 win against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Saturday. It is only the Yellow Jackets’ second win their last five contests. Against the Irish, Michael Devoe and Jose Alvarado both scored 19 points a piece to lead the Yellow Jackets. Georgia Tech shot 58.3 percent from the field and 50 percent from three-point range.
