On Wednesday night, the No. 25-ranked Rutgers Scarlet Knights will go on the road to take on the reeling No. 15-ranked Iowa Hawkeyes at 7:30 p.m. ET Big Ten Network. The last time these two teams played against each other, the Hawkeyes won 77-75 on Jan. 2.

The Scarlet Knights (11-6, 7-6) have won four-straight and are only three games behind the Michigan Wolverines for first place in the Big Ten. Last week, Rutgers defeated the Minnesota Golden Gophers 76-72 at home. Geo Baker led the way with 16 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the field, while contributing three rebounds and two assists. Ron Harper Jr., who is the team’s leading scorer, only nine points but it did not matter. Rutgers had three players in double figures, shot 53.1 percent from the field and 40 percent from distance.

The Hawkeyes (13-6, 7-5) have lost four out of their last five. On Sunday against the Indiana Hoosiers, Iowa lost 67-65 in the closing moments of the second half. Joe Wieskamp and Luka Garza both scored 18 points each, which was surprisingly not enough. Iowa had four starters in double-figures, but their bench could only produced five points.

The Hawkeyes shot 37.3 percent from the field, while holding Illinois to 35.9 percent from the field. This season, Iowa was 12-0 when holding opponents under 44.1 percent shooting from the field.

The Best Bet

It’s been hard to bet on the Hawkeyes with confidence lately. In their last few games, where they played the likes of Indiana, Ohio State, and Michigan State, they have failed to cover. As for Rutgers, they covered and defeated Indiana (+4) and just blew out Michigan State by 30 points. When these teams played earlier this season, Iowa just got by with a two-point victory. Until Iowa shows us otherwise, bet against them and take Rutgers.

Pick: Rutgers +6
