Tale of the Tape for Maycee Barber vs. Alexa Grasso

In a women’s flyweight battle on the main card of UFC 258, Maycee Barber will fight Alexa Grasso Saturday in the co-main event at UFC APEX and available on ESPN+.

The 22-year-old Barber comes to the octagon with a professional fighting record of 8-1 and ranked 10th at women’s flyweight. This is only her fifth-ever UFC bout, with the most recent taking place last January at UFC 246, where she suffered her first professional loss to Roxanne Modafferi by unanimous decision.

Before that loss last year, “The Future” Barber won her previous five pro fights by TKO. The young fighter is a competent striker, who has the ability to end a fight quickly. Barber lands 8.18 strikes per minute with 59 percent striking accuracy. She also absorbs a significant amount strikes per minute at 7.85, while defending at a 47 percent clip.

Grasso comes to Grasso with a professional fighting record of 12-3 and ranked 15th in the women’s flyweight division. The 27-year-old from Mexico last fought in August at UFC Fight Night 175, where she defeated Ji Yeon Kim by unanimous decision.

Grasso is not much of grappler like her opponent, but she can land blows inside the octagon. She averages 5.25 strikes landed per minute, with 41 percent accuracy. The 5-foot-5 fighter also absorbs fewer significant strikes than Barber at 3.61 per minute. But her striking defense is at 63 percent.
