The Alabama Crimson Tide picked up their first conference loss last weekend, and they are set to host the Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday as they look to stay atop the SEC.

Alabama (16-5, 11-1 SEC) lost 68-65 last Saturday to the then-No. 10 Missouri Tigers for the Tide’s first SEC loss of the year. Alabama got back on the winning track with an 81-78 road win over the South Carolina Gamecocks earlier this week. Leading scorer John Petty Jr. posted a team-high 20 points with eight rebounds. The Crimson Tide are ranked No. 1 in adjusted defensive efficiency heading into this game.

Georgia (12-7, 5-7 SEC) had a three-game winning streak before the Tennessee Volunteers got the best of the Bulldogs 89-81 earlier this week. Freshman guard K.D. Johnson came off the bench to score 22 points for the Bulldogs in 22 minutes of play and added 20 points in the second half. Georgia comes into this game as the No. 90 team in the latest KenPom ratings.

The Best Bet

Georgia is playing much better basketball in 2021, and their cover at Tennessee shows what they can do. But they also turn it over at a very high rate, giving it up without a shot on 22.5% of possessions. That plays right into ‘Bama’s hands, who can take live ball turnovers and create points as well as anyone.

Pick: Alabama -13
