In the first game to open up the NBA’s Saturday slate, we have the Philadelphia 76ers taking on the Phoenix Suns at 3 p.m. ET on NBATV. The Sixers are coming into matinee matchup off of a 118-114 lost to the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday night. The Suns have won four-straight games, with their latest victory being a close 125-124 result against the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday night.
Can MVP candidate Joel Embiid help the Sixers get their two win on their west coast road trip? Or will the Suns get another quality win over the best team in the NBA’s Eastern Conference? We’ll go over some ideal picks on DraftKings Sportsbook centered around the game here.
76ers vs. Suns, 3:00 p.m. ET, NBA TV
Pick ATS: Sixers -1
The line for Saturday afternoon’s game is currently set at one point, with the Sixers being favored on the road. With the line at -1/+1, it means we are in pick’em territory, which makes complete sense.
The Suns are on a four-game winning streak and have covered in all four games. One of main reasons for Phoenix’s turnaround is a healthy Devin Booker, who missed four games towards the end of last month due to injury. In their last four games, Book is averaging 26.8 points, 6.0 assists, and 5.0 rebounds per game. He is also shooting 51.3 percent from the field and 41.7 percent from three-point range.
Furthermore, Phoenix is 7-1 against in the spread in their last eight games and they are a perfect 5-0 ATS in their last five home games. Then when you look at the Sixers, they are 5-6-2 ATS on the road. Philadelphia failed to cover against Portland on Thursday (-6), but that was because Carmelo Anthony turned back the clock. But the road in general hasn’t been too friendly as they are only 7-6. The Sixers will not have sixth man Shake Milton for this game as he’s out with an ankle injury. Therefore, we will see more Furkan Korkmaz and maybe Tyrese Maxey.
Player Prop: Tobias Harris O7.5 rebounds (+104)
There are many plus money player props that I like in Saturday’s game between the Sixers and Suns. But if I did have to choose one, I’d go with Tobias Harris over 7.5 rebounds. This season, the veteran forward is averaging 7.4 rebounds per game. However, he has gone over 7.5 rebounds in 12 out of 23 games. In the Sixers’ last five games, Harris is recording 9.0 rebounds per game. And not too mention, Phoenix is allowing opponents to average 49.7 rebounds per game in their last three contests (13th in NBA).
