The Dallas Mavericks will host the Portland Trail Blazers in a Western Conference matchup on Wednesday. Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis are on a roll, but Damian Lillard and company are riding a three-game winning streak. Both teams are looking to keep their momentum going, and we’ll discuss some ideal bets for the matchup here.
Trail Blazers vs. Mavericks, 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN
Pick ATS: Mavericks -5
Dallas has bounced back following its unexpected loss to the Golden State Warriors. Since then, the Mavs have won four straight games, and Porzingis is beginning to carry his load on the offensive end by scoring at least 25 points in four of his last six games. If Doncic can continue to be a nightly triple-double threat against a Portland team that’s missing two of its best three players, covering the spread shouldn't be too hard for the home team.
Player Prop: Kristaps Porzingis to record a double-double (+175)
Porzingis has four double-doubles in his last seven games, and few matchups are as ideal as this one for boards. The Trail Blazers attempt more shots per game (92.1) than any NBA team and have the fourth-lowest team shooting percentage (44.2). Enes Kanter is an elite offensive rebounder, but he can’t make up for the rest of Portland’s undersized frontcourt. A Porzingis double-double isn't a forgone conclusion, but it’s hard to pass on taking this bet given his opponent’s track record. He’s reached double-digits in point in every game this season.
