This weekend brings a huge fight live from the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. WBC super featherweight champion Miguel Berchelt (38-1, 34 KOs) faces off against and former featherweight world champion Oscar Valdez (28-0, 22 KOs). Live coverage begins at 6:30 p.m. ET on ESPN+ and the main event gets underway at 10 p.m. on ESPN and ESPN+.

Berchelt has held the super featherweight belt since beating Francisco Vargas via 11th round KO in January 2017. This will mark his seventh sanctioned defense of the belt. He won via unanimous decision over Takashi Miura in his first defense, but has since won each defense via stoppage. He is the top-ranked super featherweight in The Ring Magazine rankings.

Valdez is making a big step up with his undefeated record. This marks his third fight at super featherweight, with the first two victories via TKO. Previously he gave up his featherweight title after six successful defenses. He is currently the No. 1 contender for the WBC title and the No. 2 contender for the WBO title.

Berchelt opened as a -435 favorite with Valdez installed at +310. With a little over 24 hours until the fight, Berchelt is now a -455 favorite.
