The Florida State Seminoles returned from their second COVID-19 break of the season and each time, they’ve come back on fire. They will look to keep that momentum going against the Pittsburgh Panthers, which are struggling for a win right now.

Florida State (12-3, 8-2 ACC) blew the doors off the Virginia Cavaliers 81-60 at home on Monday night. The Seminoles jumped on Virginia early, built a huge lead in the first half and were led by M.J. Walker’s 17 points on 5-of-6 shooting from the three-point line. Florida State shot 13-of-24 from long range in the win. The Seminoles rank eighth in adjusted offensive efficiency this season.

Pitt (9-8, 5-7 ACC) has lost three straight games and won just one of their last seven games. In the Panthers’ last time out, they were beaten at home by the NC State Wolfpack 74-73 on Wednesday. Pitt’s Justin Champagnie led the team with 18 points and 10 rebounds. The Panthers are ranked No. 75 in the latest KenPom ratings, and their adjusted defensive efficiency comes in at 89th.

Point Spread, Totals, Odds, Trends

Point spread: FSU -6.5
Point Total: 145.5
Money line: Florida State -295, Pitt +230

  • Florida State is 7-1 straight up and 6-2 against the spread in their last eight games.
  • The total went over in seven of Florida State’s last nine games, and Pittsburgh went over in six of their last nine.
  • Pittsburgh is 1-6 straight up and 2-5 against the spread in their last seven games.

The Best Bet

FSU defends as well as anyone, but over 50% from three-point range for a Leonard Hamilton team isn’t sustainable, especially on the road. This line got a bit too inflated.

Pick: Pitt +6.5
