In the first game to tip-off on TNT Tuesday, the Boston Celtics will travel to the lone star state to play the Dallas Mavericks at 7:30 p.m. ET.

The Celtics are coming into this game off of a tough 120-115 overtime loss to the New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday. Boston has lost three out of their last five games and have a road record of 7-10. The Mavs are entering this contest on the second-game of a back-to-back. Dallas defeated the Memphis Grizzlies 102-92 on Monday night. They have now won four out of their last five games and are 6-4 in their last 10.

Can the Celtics pick up the first win on their mini three-game road trip? Or will the Mavs get their second-straight win without Kristaps Porizingis? We’ll go over some ideal picks on DraftKings Sportsbook centered around the game here.

Update: Porzingis (back) and Maxi Kleber (ankle) are listed as out.

Celtics vs. Mavericks, 7:00 p.m. ET, TNT

Pick ATS: Celtics -2

The line for Tuesday night’s game is set at two points, with Celtics surprisingly being favored. On Sunday afternoon against the Pelicans, Boston should’ve cruised to an easy victory, however, they blew a 24-point lead in the second half. The Celtics had five players in double-figures, but Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, and Kemba Walker did not shoot the ball well.

Tatum had 32 points, but it came with the caveat of 10-of-24 shooting from the field and 3-of-7 from three-point range. Meanwhile, Brown scored 25 points on 7-23 shooting from the field and an abysmal 3-of-10 from behind the arc. Lastly, Walker pitched in with 14 points but also shot a horrific 5-of-21 from the field and 1-of-12 from three. It’s tough to win many games when your best three players are shooting that poorly.

The Celtics are 3-6 against the spread in their last nine games and 1-5 ATS in their last six games, which does not inspire a lot of confident in Boston. But the Mavericks have not been great against the spread either recently. Dallas is 3-11 in their last 14 games and are 4-11 ATS at home this season.

The Mavs are hoping they have Kristaps Porzingis back in the lineup after he didn’t play on Monday night due to a back injury. Without Porzingis, Dallas got solid outings from Jalen Brunson and Tim Hardaway Jr., who combined for 48 points off the bench. Luka Doncic had 21 points, seven rebounds, and five assists, while Josh Richardson added 17 points, seven rebounds, and three assists.

If Porzingis plays that should give the Mavs a decisive advantage in the front court. If he can’t play, Dallas will be counting on Richardson and Brunson to give the same effort from Monday night.

Player Prop: TBD player props not posted yet for either team.
