The No. 12 Texas Longhorns, welcome the No. 23 Kansas Jayhawks to Austin for this conference matchup Tuesday night.

The Longhorns (13-6, 7-5 Big 12) come into this game limping a bit, having lost three of their last five games. But on January 2nd, Texas totally dominated Kansas from the tip winning 84-59. KenPom has ranked as the 19th best offensive unit in the nation, and defensively they concede just 68 points per contest. Andrew Jones tops the team in scoring with 15 points per game, one of four players averaging double figures.

The Jayhawks (17-7, 11-5 Big 12) are on a roll right now having won five in a row. Their adjusted defense is the 12th-best defense in Division I according to KenPom. Kansas has five players averaging in double figures, but Ochai Agbaji leads everybody with 14 points per game.

KenPom is giving the Longhorns a 59% chance to come out on top of this one.

Point Spread, Totals, Odds, Trends

Point spread: Texas -2.5
Point Total: 139.5
Money line: Kansas +120, Texas -143

  • Kansas has covered in all of their most recent games, going 5-0 ATS during their win streak
  • The Jayhawks are 2-5 ATS in the last seven times they’ve played Texas
  • Texas hasn’t been kind to those who put faith in them, going 1-7 ATS in their last eight
  • The under has hit in all but one of the last five meetings between these two squads.

The Best Bet

The spread is so close that the favorite will likely cover with a win. The Jayhawks are just 4-5 on the road, so I’ll roll with the home team in this one.

Pick: Texas -2.5
