UPDATE: The Los Angeles Times is reporting Woods’ injuries included a shattered ankle and two leg fractures, one of which was compound.

Tiger Woods was involved in a single car crash in Los Angeles County on Tuesday. His agent announced he suffered multiple leg injuries and is currently in surgery, according to Golf Digest’s Daniel Rapoport.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department announced the accident and said Woods was extricated from the wreck with the “jaws of life” by firefighters and paramedics.

Woods has not played a competitive round of golf since last fall. He competed in the PNC Championship with his son in December and then underwent a microdiscectomy on his back. He was on hand to host the Genesis Invitational in Pacific Palisades, California. He underwent an MRI and was awaiting those results as he attempted to return for the 2021 Masters in April. His status for the Masters is unclear until there are further details on the leg injuries suffered in this accident.
