No. 22 San Diego State has won eight straight games and has been one of the country's best teams this year, but doesn’t sit atop the Mountain West Conference. Boise State holds a narrow edge over the Aztecs as the two schools are set to face off for the first time this year on Thursday.

San Diego State (17-4, 11-3) has not lost since it dropped back-to-back games against Utah State in January. The Aztecs haven’t taken down any major players, but their balanced scoring and sixth-ranked scoring defense can keep them in any game. Matt Mitchell and Jordan Schakel alternate carrying the offense, and both seniors will have major roles to play against Boise State.

Boise State (18-4, 14-3) rebounded from back-to-back losses against Nevada by going on a four-game winning streak. Their only losses this season came against No. 12 Houston in the season opener, and via a split with fellow bubble team Colorado State. The Broncos’ potent offense is powered by senior forward Derrick Alston Jr., who’s scored at least 20 points in 12 games this season. Getting the best of an elite defense could be a challenge for him.

The Best Bet

This could very well be a close game, but home-court advantage should give San Diego State an edge. While the Aztecs are just above .500 ATS at home, they boast an 11-2 record. SDSU has won eight straight games by double digits in recent weeks, while Boise has had several close calls.

Pick: San Diego State -6
