There are six games on the main slate for Thursday and we should get a ton of value for a larger slate. The Dallas Mavericks are dealing with injuries in the frontcourt to Kristaps Porzingis and Maxi Kleber. The Denver Nuggets are also a team that has multiple regulars out of the lineup against the worst defense in the NBA in the Washington Wizards. So which value plays should we go after?
That being said, it is a great time to give you some value plays for your DFS contest. Unlike NFL DFS, where one pick can make or break your lineup or it’s tough to find quality low-tier value.
In NBA DFS, you can find quality value plays under $5K that can give you a quick 10 points off the bench, grab some rebounds, or stuff the stat sheet. It does not matter if you are playing a 50/50 or Double Up contest, we are going to provide you with three players that you need to put in your lineup.
Monte Morris, Nuggets, $4,800
The Nuggets take on the worst defense in the NBA in the Wizards at home. Denver will be without Gary Harris, JaMychal Green and Paul Millsap again. With Harris sidelined, Morris has stepped into a bigger role and has played over 29 minutes in four of the past five games. At under $5K, Morris will be a pretty popular value option similar to Rose. It may be a good slate to pay down at guard and stack up on frontcourt bodies with guys like Giannis, Kawhi Leonard and Nikola Jokic on the slate.
Derrick Rose, Knicks, $4,600
The New York Knicks are listing starting PG Elfrid Payton as doubtful to play against the Sacramento Kings tonight. As a result, we could see Rose inserted into the starting lineup. D-Rose played 27 minutes and scored just over 35 DKFP two nights ago against the Golden State Warriors. If Rose starts, that could mean a 30+ minute workload and we know the former MVP can fill it up. This is also a great matchup against a Kings defense that has been bleeding points lately.
Tyler Johnson, Nets, $3,100
The Nets are another team dealing with a ton of injuries. Jeff Green and Landry Shamet are both questionable to play. Kevin Durant has also been ruled out. So if all three miss this game, the Nets will have a tight rotation. That could mean we just see a ton of James Harden and Kyrie Irving points. We could also see a decent amount of Johnson, who is close to min-priced. The Nets like to run smaller lineups and the way Brooklyn is playing, this game against the Orlando Magic could be over early. Johnson is a candidate for garbage time and could see around 20-25 minutes if Green and Shamet are sidelined.
