Pick against the spread, best player prop for Mavericks vs. Sixers on Thursday

We go over some of the best betting options for Thursday’s matchup between the Dallas Mavericks and Philadelphia 76ers.

Philadelphia 76ers v Toronto Raptors

The ninth-place Mavericks will head out on the road to take on the Eastern Conference’s first-place team, the Philadelphia 76ers. The Sixers (21-11), while sitting pretty at the top of the East, most recently split a pair of games against the Raptors, while each team took home a seven-point victory. They recently also rode a three-game losing streak until they snapped that by winning two in a row before taking on the Raptors.

The Mavericks are on a hot streak, winning six of their last seven outings, with their only loss in that stretch coming in a narrow 118-121 result against the Blazers last Sunday. Tonight they’ll embark on a three-game road trip before they return home for their last game before the All-Star break.

Mavericks vs. Sixers, 7:00 p.m. ET, TNT

Pick ATS: Sixers -4.5

As good as the Mavs have been recently, and even with Luka Doncic averaging 28.9 points per game this season, the Sixers have been exceptionally good at home, boasting a 13-2 record at the Wells Fargo Center this season. With the return of Seth Curry to the lineup tonight after missing their last game against the Raptors, that should bolster the Sixers’ offense even more so as they’re expected to win this game.

Joel Embiid can’t be left out of the conversation either as he’s averaged a league third-best 29.8 points per game while adding 11.3 rebounds per game so far this season. While he only went for 18 points against the Raptors on Tuesday, he’s less than a week removed from a his huge 50-point performance against the Bulls, which he followed up with another impressive 25 points and 17 rebounds in their loss to the Raptors.

Player Prop: Tobias Harris O4.5 assists (+132)

Harris hasn’t notched less than five assists since the Sixers’ 123-134 loss to the Jazz on February 15th. In the four games since then, he’s assisted 24 times, good for a six assists-per-game average. Throughout the season so far, he’s averaged 3.4 assists throughout, but that number has gone up to 4.7 per game just in February. Over 4.5 should be easily doable for Harris, especially since the Sixers will be playing at home on their own turf.
