Pick against the spread, best player prop for Pacers vs. Celtics on Friday

We go over some of the best betting options for Friday’s matchup between the Indiana Pacers and Boston Celtics.

NBA: Atlanta Hawks at Boston Celtics David Butler II-USA TODAY Sports

The Indiana Pacers and Boston Celtics both have not played that well in the month of February and are under .500 in their last 10 games. The two will get together in Boston on Friday night at 7:30 ET in the first game of ESPN’s doubleheader.

Indiana had consecutive games postponed before returning to the court on Wednesday for a 111-107 home loss to the Golden State Warriors. The Celtics will look to avoid losing their fourth consecutive game, and they are coming off a 127-112 road loss to the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday night.

Indiana comes in with a 15-15 record for fourth place in the Eastern Conference, while Boston is 15-17 and ninth in the East. These two teams played twice in Indiana in late December and each won a game.

Pacers vs. Celtics, 7:30 p.m. ET, ESPN

Pick ATS: Celtics -2.5

The Celtics are more desperate for a victory than Indiana and will break their recent losing streak. The three losses all came on the road, and the return home will be good for this team. The Celtics are 1-4 against the spread in their last five games overall, but they have covered in eight of their last 11 home games. The biggest issues have come on the defensive end in the past week, but that hasn’t been the story all season long for the Celtics, which rank seventh in points per game allowed. Expect a better defensive effort for Boston cover and get back on track.

Player Prop: Kemba Walker O2.5 3-pointers (-110)

Kemba Walker has been letting 3-pointers fly quite often recently, and he should be able to knock down at least three 3-pointers on Friday night. He has accomplished that in five of his last six games and put up a combined 23 3-pointers in the last two games. The Pacers rank 21st in three-point percentage defensively, so Walker should find some open looks.
