The Utah Jazz head into Friday night’s game against the Charlotte Hornets with the best record in the entire NBA at 17-5. Utah has won two straight and 13 of the last 14 games including a 112-91 road win over the Atlanta Hawks on Thursday night. The Jazz are playing their second game of a three-game road trip. As for Charlotte, the Hornets come in with a 10-12 record. Charlotte had a three-game winning streak snapped on Wednesday night with a 118-111 road loss to the Philadelphia 76ers.
Jazz vs. Hornets, 8:00 p.m. ET, NBA League Pass
Pick ATS: Hornets +8
Utah has been on a roll especially against the spread in this winning streak. The Jazz are 12-1-1 against the spread in their last 14 games, and oddsmakers have been slow to adjust. However, they may have overcorrected too much, making Charlotte an eight-point underdog at home. The Hornets have won three of the last four, and they should be able to cover this number. Charlotte has been solid against the spread as well, going 10-4-1 against the number the last 15. Especially with Utah playing their second straight road game in back-to-back nights, let’s go with the Hornets.
Player Prop: Donovan Mitchell U22.5 points (+105)
Donovan Mitchell has played 31 minutes or more in each of the last four games but went over 22.5 points just one time out of the four games. He has been going through concussion protocol, but he has been in the lineup. In his last four games, Mitchell finished with nine, 13, 32 and 18 points. Feel comfortable these type of performances continue against a roughly average Charlotte defense.
