The Kansas City Chiefs didn’t need kicker Harrison Butker to kick many field goals in their AFC Championship win over the Bills. He booted just one, one one attempt, through the uprights, a 45-yarder. And he rounded out his day with five extra point kicks. The question now is how much the Chiefs will call on him in the Super Bowl against the Buccaneers.
Fantasy Football analysis: Chiefs K Harrison Butker, $4,000
While Butker was perfect in his last game, he looked a little shaky in the Chiefs’ Divisional round win over the Cleveland Browns. He attempted four field goals, making three of them. He was one-for-two on extra points in that game as well. He had a 92.6 percent completion rate on field goals in the regular season and an 88.9 percent rate on PATs.
How many chances Butker will get in the Super Bowl is a mystery, but his field goal opportunities are somewhat limited by how good the Chiefs offense is when it comes to scoring.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
I like Ryan Succop among the two kickers in the big game. He kicks more, averages more points per game, has a higher success rate, and he’s $300 cheaper. Still, Butker isn’t a bad option, considering there are only two.
