How to handle Clyde Edwards-Helaire injury heading into Super Bowl 2021

Clyde Edwards-Helaire is on the Chiefs final injury report for Super Bowl 55. We break down what it means for fantasy football and betting decisions.

Kansas City Chiefs running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire is all set to play in Super Bowl 55. He had been dealing with ankle and hip injuries down the stretch and into the playoffs, but CEH was a full participant in practice all week leading up to the game. He is not listed on the official injury report for Sunday’s game.

Fantasy/betting impact: Clyde Edwards-Helaire (ankle, hip)

Edwards-Helaire missed the Chiefs Divisional round game against the Cleveland Browns. He injured his hip in Week 15, and missed each of Kansas City’s games until the AFC Championship against the Buffalo Bills. In that game, CEH had just six yards on seven carries, but he did find the end zone.

The Chiefs don’t run the ball a lot, and he CEH could cede some touches to both Le’Veon Bell and Darrel Williams. However, in the four games before getting hurt, he had double digit rushing attempts in each of them, that includes 37 yards on 11 carries against Tampa Bay’s sturdy run defense in Week 12.
