The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a 7-3 lead with 10:50 left in the second quarter of Super Bowl 55, but they’ll come away empty on their fourth drive of the game thanks to a goal line stand from the Kansas City Chiefs.
Ronald Jones had two chances to break the plane and give the Bucs a double-digit lead, but they came away empty, including this run over right tackle on fourth down.
It’s not great for underdog Tampa Bay to come away empty, but they’ve got Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs still pinned deep in the shadow of the pirate ship in the end zone at Raymond James Stadium.
On second down the Bucs might have come even closer, as tackle-eligible lineman Joe Haeg had a TD in his hands, but a pass breakup by Anthony Hitchens kept them off the board.

The call was made my down judge Sarah Thomas, the first woman to officiate in a Super Bowl. And it looks like she made the right call, as there was no clear angle that showed the ball breaking the plane on replay that we’ve seen so far.
