Las Vegas Raiders 2021 free agency outlook

The Las Vegas Raiders finished their first year in their new home with an 8-8 record. It was good enough for second place in the AFC West, and despite playing two tough games against the Kansas City Chiefs, the Raiders will be looking for big bounce back in 2021. Their first priority will be determining what to do about a long list of their own players ticketed for free agency this year.

Lost revenue due to COVID-19 will impact every team, but with so many free agents the likely drop in the league wide salary cap number could make things difficult. The 2020 number was around $198 million, while the 2021 number could drop to $180.5 million according to Over The Cap, but is subject to change.

Franchise/Transition Tag possibilities

Despite spending a first-round pick on Henry Ruggs III last year, Nelson Agholor turned out to be the team’s No. 1 receiver. His 896 yards and eight touchdowns trailed only tight end Darren Waller. After a disappointing start to his career in Philadelphia, the Raiders were able to sign him for a bargain one-year prove-it deal worth less than $2 million.
