Breaking down the SoCon Conference basketball tournament schedule

Taking a look at who, where and when for the SoCon Conference Championship, which will be hosted at Harrah’s in Asheville, North Carolina.

The SoCon Conference Championship stretches from March 5th to March 8th, with all games taking place at the Harrah’s Cherokee Center in Asheville, North Carolina. The tournament will include 10 teams, who will play single-elimination games with no reseeding.

The SoCon Conference tournament will be broadcast across ESPN platforms, with the first two rounds airing on ESPN+, available with a subscription. The semifinals will be broadcast on ESPNU, and the finals game will air on ESPN.

UNC-Greensboro is the favorite, and currently ranks No. 111 in Ken Pomeroy’s ratings and No. 91 in the NCAA’s NET rankings. Wofford is the No. 2 seed, and ranks No. 128 in the Pomeroy ratings and No. 11 in the NET rankings.

Game 3: No. 1 UNC-Greensboro 80-72 over No. 8 The Citadel

Game 5: No. 7 Mercer 62-61 over No. 2 Wofford
Game 6: No. 6 VMI 91-90 (OT) over No. 3 Furman

Sunday, March 7

Semifinal 1: No. 1 UNC-Greensboro 80-72 over No. 5 ETSU
Semifinal 2: No. 7 Mercer 73-59 over No. 6 VMI

Monday, March 8

Championship: No. 1 UNC-Greensboro 69-61 over No. 7 Mercer

UNC-Greensboro advances to the NCAA Tournament via automatic bid.
