Pick against the spread, best player prop for Jazz vs. Pelicans on Monday

We go over some of the best betting options for Monday’s matchup between the Utah Jazz and New Orleans Pelicans.

New Orleans Pelicans v Milwaukee Bucks

The Utah Jazz continue to extend their lead of having the best record in the NBA as a new month begins when they head on the road to take on the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday, March 1. Utah will enter with a 27-7 record, which is 3.5 games ahead of the Los Angeles Lakers for the top spot in the Western Conference. After a nine-game winning streak was snapped, the Jazz have won three f their last four games.

New Orleans will enter with a 14-19 record this season, which ranks 11th in the West. The Pelicans have lost two consecutive games, both of which came on the road including a 117-114 road loss to the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday.

Jazz vs. Pelicans, 8:00 p.m. ET, NBA TV

Pick ATS: Jazz -7

For as good as the Jazz have been recently, winning 23 of their last 26 games, they have still been ahead of oddsmakers and are consistently covering point spreads. In that 26-game span, Utah has a 22-3-1 record against the spread. That doesn’t appear to be slowing down all that much, and they are going up against the Pelicans, which are 3-7 against the spread in their last 10 games. In addition, Utah is 9-3 against the spread in their last 12 road games and covered in eight of the last 11 games against New Orleans. Plenty of trends go in the direction of the Jazz, which is where we’ll go in this wager.

Player Prop: Eric Bledsoe O1.5 3-pointers (-152)

The odds are heavily in favor of Eric Bledsoe making more than 1.5 3-pointers in this game and for good reason. For one, it’s possible J.J. Redick misses this game as the sharp shooter did not play in Saturday’s game due to a hamstring injury, and he’s listed as questionable. This would lead to more opportunities for three-point attempts for Bledsoe, who is shooting 39.3% from beyond the arc. He knocked down six 3-pointers in 15 attempts the last two games combined and 2.1 3-pointers made per game this season.
