The Pacers are coming into this game off of a 113-103 loss to the Denver Nuggets last week before the NBA All-Star break. Indiana has lost four out of their last five games and are 4-6 in their last 10. Meanwhile, the Lakers lost two-straight games to the Kings and Suns going into the mid-season break. Can either the Lakers or Pacers start off the second-half on a good note? We’ll go over some ideal picks on DraftKings Sportsbook centered around the game here.
Indiana Pacers vs. Los Angeles Lakers, 10:30 p.m. ET, NBATV
Pick ATS: Lakers -4.5
The line for Friday night’s game is currently set at 4.5 points, with the Lakers being favored at home. The Pacers are sitting on the outside looking in at the playoff race, currently as the 10th seed. If the playoffs started today, they would have to play in the play-in tournament to just have a chance.
Indiana needs this win as they have another game on Saturday night against the Phoenix Suns. The Pacers come into this game healthy as they will not have Caris LeVert, who is scheduled to make his debut on Saturday. Indiana has a record of 0-6 against the spread in their last six games and 8-9 ATS on the road. Despite having Domantas Sabonis should be able to put up points without Anthony Davis, the Pacers are 0-8 against the spread as an underdog this season.
In that same vain, the Lakers have not been a great bet recently, with a record of 7-13 ATS in their last 20 games. This season at the Staples Center, Los Angeles is 7-12 ATS and 3-7 in their last 10. The Lakers will need to lean on the fast break as they are averaging 14.7 points per game. Lebron James will once again shoulder the offensive workload, but they will need Kyle Kuzma and Dennis Schroder to contribute as well.
Player Prop: Justin Holiday O2.5 three-pointers made (+100)
Unlike the first game on NBATV between the Nuggets and Grizzlies, this late-night game features a ton of good prop bet plays. One play that I like is Justin Holiday over 2.5 three-pointers made. As of right now, the odds are sitting +100, but we could easily see this prop go to minus money. This season, Holiday is shooting a career-high 45.9 percent from the field and 41.4 percent from distance on 6.1 attempts per game.
The veteran wing player has gone over 2.5 three-pointers made in only 15 out of 35 games played this season. In the Pacers’ last five contests, Holiday is shooting 41.5 percent from three-point range (3.5 threes made per game). The Lakers’ defense has not been great against the three-point shot in their last three, allowing teams to shoot 40.9 percent.
