Spurs vs. Sixers, 6:30 p.m. ET, NBA TV

Pick ATS: Sixers -4.5

The line for Sunday evening’s game is currently set at 4.5 points, with the Sixers being favored at home, despite not having Joel Embiid. The All-Star center and frontrunner for MVP suffered a knee injury on Friday and will miss two weeks. Embiid is averaging 29.9 points, 11.5 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game this season.

Without Embiid for the foreseeable future, the Sixers are hoping to get back All-Star point guard Ben Simmons back for Sunday’s game. Simmons is currently listed as probable due to health and safety protocols. The Sixers have a record of 6-1 against the spread in their last seven games. And they are also 13-6 against the spread at home this season.

As for the Spurs, they will be without both DeMar DeRozan and LaMarcus Aldridge. DeRozan played on Thursday night, but is out for personal reasons. Without DeRozan, the Spurs will look towards Dejounte Murray to lead the way on offense. Murray is averaging 15.6 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game. He also plays an instrumental role in the Spurs’ fast break as he averaged 3.1 fast break points per game. As a team, the Spurs are recording 13.8 fast breaks points per game, which is good for fourth in the West. San Antonio has been solid pick ATS with a record of 12-6 in their last 18 road games. They are also 8-1 against the spread in nine games versus teams from the East.

Player Prop: Ben Simmons O18.5 Points (-104)

The last time the Sixers played without Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons went off for a career-high 42 points against the Utah Jazz. After that game, we saw Simmons go on a tear and play aggressive on the offensive end. The All-Star point guard has only gone over 18.5 points in six out of 31 games played.

In his last five games played, the All-Star point guard is averaged 17.8 points on an efficient 60.7 percent shooting from the field. The key for Simmons is to have more than 12 shot attempts in this game and get to the free-throw line.
