In a big loss for the reeling Oklahoma Sooners, head coach Lon Kruger has confirmed sophomore guard De’Vion Harmon won’t be with the team due to testing positive for COVID-19.
Oklahoma faces Missouri on Saturday at 7:25 p.m. in the first round at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Harmon averages 12.9 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.0 assists for the No. 8 seeded Sooners, who backed into the NCAA field anyway after losing five of their last six games. It’s a huge blow to a team that really couldn’t afford any more bad news heading into The Big Dance.
OU opened as a two-point favorite at DraftKings Sportsbook, but that’s dropped to 1.5-points as we write this. As of this morning, 75% of the action and 78% of the bets were on Oklahoma at DK.
Look for more minutes from Elijah Harkless in Harmon’s stead, as he’ll be the next guard up off the bench. The Cal-State Northridge transfer Harkless averages 7.8 points and 5.0 rebounds per game in 28 minutes a game currently.
