With less than five seconds to go in the game on Friday afternoon, Virginia Tech guard Nahiem Alleyne tied up the game at 64-64 against the Florida Gators with a three-pointer from the wing.
The No. 10 seed Hokies led at the half 33-27 over the No. 7 seed Gators, thanks in large part to the play of Alleyne. Florida stormed back to take a four-point lead but could not put away the Hokies in regulation. Alleyne scored the last nine points late in the second half to the tie game up.
