This could be a potential preview of a playoff series later in the postseason. The Phoenix Suns are looking like a top 4 team in the West and the Los Angeles Lakers should make a run up the standings once Anthony Davis is back from injury. The Suns have won five of their past six games. The Lakers are on a two-game winning streak after dropping four in a row. Dennis Schroder is back from health and safety protocols.
Suns vs. Lakers, 10:00 p.m. ET, TNT
Pick ATS: Lakers -1.5
With Schroder back, the Lakers are a more complete team. It takes a lot of pressure off LeBron to run the point all game, so he can focus more on the defensive side of the ball. This is basically a toss up. Chances are this game will be close and I’ll almost always give the edge to James in these scenarios — especially at home. The O/U on this game is also interesting at 213.5. It’s a really low total but these are two teams that are capable of holding opponents under 100 points.
Player Prop: Deandre Ayton O14.5 Points (-104)
Ayton has been really efficient on offense lately, shooting 32-of-47 from the floor over the past four games. He’s gone for at least 16 points in each contest and has scored 22 points in back-to-back games. This is a tougher matchup against the Lakers but AD is still out and Ayton should have his way against Marc Gasol early on. The only thing that worries me is Ayton doesn’t get a ton of looks, plus this game could be low scoring. Other than that, the trends are in his favor.
