It takes a lot of hard work and ability to get to free agency in good standing. And now those players get to cash in. This season, budgets will be tighter with the salary cap taking a hit due to COVID-19, which could limit guaranteed money and contract length. More players will likely need to take one-year prove-it contracts than usual. But, the top players will still command top contracts.
The tight end free agency landscape isn’t flush with talent, but Hunter Henry and Jonnu Smith should both be highly sought after if allowed to walk. Rob Gronkowski, Jared Cook, Gerald Everett and Mo Alie-Cox also will be free agents, with Gronk likely not leaving Tampa Bay.
