JuJu Smith-Schuster is returning to the Pittsburgh Steelers for 2021. The 24-year-old wideout signed a one-year, $8 million deal to remain with the team that drafted him in 2017. Smith-Schuster fell short of expectations after Antonio Brown parted ways with Pittsburgh but led the Steelers in receptions (97) and touchdowns (9). He ranked third in receiving yards (831) and second in targets. Smith-Schuster has essentially signed a prove-it deal in the hopes of landing a massive contract in 2022. He’ll have to hold off an onslaught from Diontae Johnson and Chase Claypool to earn his money, though. The development of the young players around Smith-Schuster and Ben Roethlisberger’s decline will likely stop him from finishing higher on the WR leaderboard in 2021 than he did last season.
