Report: Georgetown center Qudus Wahab has entered transfer portal

The sophomore big man will be a major target in what is a flooded portal already

Georgetown sophomore Qudus Wahab has entered the transfer portal after a Big East championship season for Patrick Ewing and the Hoyas.

Wahab averages 12.7 points and 8.2 rebounds per game, and will be one of the better names available in a transfer portal that has over 800 names in it already. High school recruiting in 2021 has basically grinded to a halt with the additional year of eligibility given to every player that participated in or opted-out of the 2020-21 season, and the consequences mean the portal is full of players looking for a new home to continue or complete their careers.

During Georgetown’s five-game postseason run between the Big East Tournament and their first round NCAA Tournament exit against Colorado, Wahab had 15.4 points and 9.0 rebounds per game.

It’s the second-straight year there’s been a major transfer out of the Georgetown program, as Mac McClung left Washington D.C. last season on the way to being the leading scorer at Texas Tech. The Red Raiders fell to Arkansas in the second round of the NCAA Tournament this season.
