Dallas Mavericks All-Star PG Luka Doncic is being listed as doubtful to play in Friday’s game vs. the Indiana Pacers due to a back injury. This would be the second game Doncic would miss following the All-Star break. It seems the Mavericks are simply keeping him fresh and managing the injury rather than anything that could be serious. Chances are Doncic will end up sitting out to start the weekend.

UPDATE: Doncic has officially been ruled out for Friday’s game vs. the Pacers.

With Doncic most likely sidelined, the Mavericks should lean on Kristaps Porzingis ($8,100) to provide the offense against the Pacers. Tim Hardaway Jr. ($5,700), Josh Richardson ($5,400) and Maxi Kleber ($4,600) all get a nice boost. Jalen Brunson ($4,500) should be the player who ends up starting at PG for Doncic. He’ll be a very popular, chalky play in both GPPs and cash games on DraftKings. Brunson normally performs given extended minutes and his price is very low given the new injury to Doncic.

If you can hop on the Pacers at +4 on the road, go for it. Doncic likely will sit and the Mavericks are clearly a worse team without the All-Star. The Pacers also have Caris LeVert back and it doesn’t seem like Malcolm Brogdon or Myles Turner will end up sitting as both players have been dealing with injuries lately. If the Pacers are fully healthy, this line is likely in favor of Indy with Dallas missing Doncic, so there’s a ton of value.
