We are down to the other final four WGC Match Play Championship from the original 64, and tomorrow we’ll play down to the 2021 champion at Austin Country Club.
Billy Horschel knocked off Tommy Fleetwood on the first extra hole after Fleetwood put his tee ball somewhere in San Antonio. Victor Perez stopped fellow Ryder Cup candidate Sergio Garcia 4 & 3, despite Garcia’s first-ever walk-off ace in golf history on Friday.
Jon Rahm was the favorite entering the day, but fell 3 & 1 to an upset by Scottie Scheffler. Scheffler was 3-up after five holes, and never relinquished his lead against the World No. 3. And the two biggest surprises to be this deep in the field in Matt Kuchar and Brian Harman saw the 42-year-old Kuchar take home a 2 & 1 win to reach the semifinals.
There’s plenty of cash on the line tomorrow, as the winner goes home with $1,820,000 and a three-year PGA Tour exemption. Second place gets $1,150,000, and the two losers in the morning will battle for the difference between $740,000 and $600,000 in the third place match.
Here are the tee times and for the semifinals at the 2021 WGC Match Play Championship on Sunday, March 28th, along with the odds from DraftKings Sportsbook. All times are Central Time.
9:05 a.m. Victor Perez (+100) vs. Billy Horschel (-134)
9:20 a.m. Matt Kuchar (+115) vs. Scottie Scheffler (-150)
