South Carolina is back in the Final Four. The Dawn Staley-led Gamecocks won it all the last time they made the semifinals and are looking to win their second-title ever. South Carolina has secured four double-digit wins in March Madness so far. Let’s take a look at how they made it to Final Four and their program history.

South Carolina finished the regular season ranked sixth in the country. They won the SEC tournament over Georgia ahead of the NCAA Tournament and earned an at-large bid as a No. 1 seed. Then the Gamecocks began a dominant run to the fifth round.

The Gamecocks first took down No. 16 Mercer in the first round 79-53. Star forward Aliyah Boston led the way with 20 points and 18 rebounds, while Victaria Saxton matched her with 20 points of her own. Boston followed up her first-round performance with game-high 19 points against No. 8 Oregon State in a 59-42 victory but was outdone by sophomore standout Zia Cooke in the Gamecocks’ 76-65 win against No. 5 Georgia Tech. Cooke poured in 17 points to help lead South Carolina to the Elite 8. Everyone got going for South Carolina in the fourth round, as four different Gamecocks — Boston, Cooke, Saxton, and Destanni Henderson — reached double-digits in points to secure a 62-34 win against No. 6 Texas.
