It was projected when he was first hurt that Ayo Dosunmu might not be back for the No. 4 Illinois Fighting Illini until after the Big Ten Tournament next week.
But ahead of the Illini’s season closer against No. 7 Ohio State today, the star guard will return in a huge clash in Columbus.
Illinois star Ayo Dosunmu has been cleared and will play today.

The 6’5 guard from Chicago averages 21 points per game, shoots 40% from three-point range, and is one of the best closers in the college game. He’s missed the past three contests with a facial injury sustained in the Illini’s loss to Michigan State on February 23rd.
The team went 3-0 without him, but getting back a candidate for the Wooden Award as the national player of the year can only help their chances against the reeling Buckeyes. Ohio State hasn’t won a game since February 18th thanks to three straight losses to two Top 10 teams in Michigan and Iowa, and a puzzling setback at Michigan State on February 25th.
The Illini are currently a two-point underdog at DraftKings Sportsbook.
