How and what to watch for No. 18 Texas Tech vs. No. 3 Baylor

On Sunday afternoon, the No. 18-ranked Texas Tech Red Raiders will travel to Waco to take on the No. 3-ranked Baylor Bears at 4 p.m. ET ESPN. The last time these two teams played each other, the Bears won 68-60 on Jan. 16 in Lubbock.

The Red Raiders (17-8, 9-7 Big 12) have won three-straight games and could move up in the Big 12 standings before conference tourney play begins. On Thursday Texas Tech defeated the Iowa State Cyclones 81-54 in dominating fashion. Mac McClung led the way with a game-high 20 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the field. He was one of five Red Raider players, who scored in double-figures. McClung is the heart and soul of this Texas Tech squad, averaging 16.4 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game.

The Bears (20-1, 12-1 Big 12) have won two-straight games after losing to the Kansas Jayhawks on Feb. 27. Baylor defeated the surging Oklahoma State Cowboys 81-70 on Thursday night. With the win, the Bears clinched the regular-season title as they had four players in double figures. Jared Butler was the team’s leading scorer with 22 points (8-14 FG, 4-7 3pt), five assists, three rebounds, and three steals.

This should be a good game between the Red Raiders and Bears on Sunday afternoon. Both teams are playing well at the right time with the tourney looming. Baylor trying to come away with their fifth-straight win over Texas Tech. But it will be tough as this Red Raiders’ team is only allowing teams to shoot 34.6 percent from the field in their last three games.

The last time these two teams played Baylor won by eight points and the spread for that game was -4. I think the Bears will win it but this Red Raiders’ team will keep it close in the second half.
