The Los Angeles Dodgers will try to take a commanding 2-0 series over the Washington Nationals at 9:10 p.m. ET on Saturday night. The Dodgers defeated the Nats 1-0 Friday, thanks to a solo home run from third baseman Justin Turner. Turner was one of only two Dodgers players to register a hit. For Washington, right fielder Juan Soto went 2-3 with a walk and increased his batting average to .364.

The Dodgers are favored on the moneyline at -215 against the Nationals. Friday’s game was surprisingly a pitcher’s duel. Los Angeles did not have Mookie Betts or Cody Bellinger in the lineup, which likely played a major factor. The Dodgers started Walker Buehler, who recorded four strikeouts and gave up six hits in 6.0 IP.
Without Betts and Bellinger at the top of the order, the Dodgers offense struggled to do anything against Nationals pitcher Joe Ross. Chris Taylor, Corey Seager, and Justin Turner were a combined 3-10, with Turner having all the hits. If Betts can’t go on Saturday, then that will be a major sigh of relief to the Nationals’ pitching staff. Speaking of Washington, they are trying to snap a three-game losing streak. The Nats have been outscored 10-6, which includes back-to-back shutouts. Washington has not had it easy to begin the season as they have multiple players on the COVID-19 list.
