Pick against the spread, best player prop for Heat vs. Suns on Tuesday

We go over some of the best betting options for Tuesday’s matchup between the Miami Heat and Phoenix Suns.

NBA: Houston Rockets at Phoenix Suns Rick Scuteri-USA TODAY Sports

The Phoenix Suns continue to be among the hottest teams in the NBA, and they will host the Miami Heat on Tuesday, April 13th. Phoenix continues to climb up the standings and is now at 38-15, 1.5 games behind the Utah Jazz for the top spot in the Western Conference. The Suns have won nine of their last 10 games. Meanwhile, the Heat have been playing well also, winning six of their last seven to improve to 28-25 for the fifth best record in the East.

Miami’s new trade piece Victor Oladipo missed the last game with a knee injury, and head coach Erik Spoelstra declined to answer whether he will return this season. Reserve point guard Gabe Vincent is probable for the Heat despite a knee injury. Phoenix has no new updates in their latest injury report.

Heat vs. Suns, 10:00 p.m. ET, NBA League Pass

Pick ATS: Suns -4

There isn’t a huge advantage from a scheduling perspective for either team in this one, so why not go with the home team that has a better record, is healthy and has won nine of their last 10 games? The Suns are playing a back-to-back, but this is the third game of a five-game homestand. Meanwhile, the Heat had Monday off but are in the second game of a four-game road trip. They got past the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday, but the loss of Oladipo will catch up to them in this spot.

Player Prop: Kendrick Nunn O11.5 points (-134)

This is a pretty safe prop you can use in a parlay on Tuesday night. Nunn should end up starting for Victor Oladipo again. Nunn has scored at least 15 points in three of the past four games. In each of those games, Nunn played at least 32 minutes. The only thing I’d be concerned about is this game being competitive. If it’s close, then the Heat should give Nunn around 30 minutes, which should results in double-digit FG attempts. Maybe I’m scared of the defensive matchup, but if the Heat have to play catchup, that means chuckage from Nunn.
