The NASCAR Cup Series will move onto Richmond Raceway in Virginia for the 2021 Toyota Owners 400. The race is scheduled to start on Sunday at 3 p.m. ET and will be televised on FOX.
Last year, the race was not held due to the on-going COVID-19 pandemic. However, Martin Truex Jr. won this event in 2019 after leading for 186 laps. He finished second at the 2020 Federated Auto Parts 400, which was held in Richmond during the playoff chase. Brad Keselowski took the checkered flag in that race.
Truex Jr. is coming into Sunday’s race off a win at the Blue-Emu Maximum Pain Relief 500 at Martinsville last week. Truex Jr. has two victories already this NASCAR season, with first happening in March at the Instacart 500. The veteran driver will look for another victory on Sunday as he’ll be the pole leader for the Toyota Owners 400. The four other drivers in the top five starting spots are Denny Hamlin, Chase Elliott, William Byron, and Joey Logano. Hamlin, Elliott, and Byron finished second, third, and fourth respectively behind Truex Jr. last weekend.
Here is the full lineup for Sunday’s 2021 Toyota Owners 400 as of now, but this is subject to change if cars or engines are needed to be changed.
