YouTube personality and aspiring professional boxer Jake Paul has improved to 3-0 in his young career. He still has not fought an actual boxer, but he has proven himself better than non-boxers for the time being.
Paul fought MMA fighter Ben Askren on Saturday night and won via first round TKO. Paul dropped Askren with a right hand at 1:59 in the first. Askren got back to his feet and seemed ready to return but the ref elected to stop the fight.
Askren went down like a sack of potatoes but did get up fairly quickly. However, he wobbled back against the ropes on the eight count. The ref brought him forward, but Askren wobbled just enough that the ref decided that was enough. As our friends from Bad Left Hook noted, this stoppage probably doesn’t happen in a championship fight, but we all know this was not a championship fight. It probably made sense to stop it before Askren really got hurt.
Give the video a look for yourself.
