Pick against the spread, best player prop for Grizzlies vs. Nuggets on Monday

We go over some of the best betting options for Monday’s matchup between the Memphis Grizzlies and Denver Nuggets.

Look to roster Nikola Jokic

The Denver Nuggets continue to perform as one of the hottest teams in the NBA as they return home to take on the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday, April 19th as they continue to play through the loss of point guard Jamal Murray to a torn ACL. Denver had an eight-game winning streak snapped with consecutive losses, but they are starting a new streak with back-to-back victories as they improved to 36-20 for the fourth best record in the Western Conference. The Grizzlies have played well recently, winning their first four games to start the month and have won two in a row to move to 29-26 for the No. 8 spot in the West, though they are dealing with quite a few injuries as well.

In addition to being without Murray, Monte Morris is out with a hamstring injury suffered during Friday’s win over the Houston Rockets. For the Grizzlies, big man Jonas Valanciunas is out with a concussion, and De’Anthony Melton, Justise Winslow and Jaren Jackson Jr. remain out. In addition, Dillon Brooks and Brandon Clarke are listed as questionable.

Memphis Grizzlies vs. Denver Nuggets, 9 p.m. ET

Pick ATS: Nuggets -7.5

This is a relatively high spread for Denver without a few key pieces, but the Grizzlies’ injury report is much more of an issue going into this one. Be sure to check out the latest on each of the injured players before makin this wager, but this is still a good spot for the Nuggets to cover this number. Denver is returning to their home court and hasn’t played since Friday, while the Grizzlies had one fewer day of rest and are playing their third game of a seven-game road trip, making this a good betting opportunity for the Nuggets.

Player Prop: Nikola Jokic O25.5 points (-113)

This is certainly a high number, but the Nuggets should continue to feature Jokic more and more to help make up for Murray’s absence. Jokic is averaging 26.1 points per game and went over the over 25.5 point total in two of the last three games. On average, he shoots a little more than 18 shots per game. While he doesn’t shoot 3-pointers that often, we could see slightly more of them moving forward as he shoots 42.2% from beyond the arc this year.
