The Arizona Diamondbacks will look to even their Opening Weekend series against the San Diego Padres at 10:10 p.m. ET on Friday night. The Padres won in a slugfest over the DBacks 8-7 on Opening Day. San Diego first basemen Eric Hosmer had a team-high three hits, along with a home run and three RBI. For the Diamondbacks, second baseman Ketel Marte was in midseason form with four hits and a home run.

The spread for Friday night’s contest is set at -1.5 runs, with the Padres favored at PetCo Park. San Diego is also the favorite on the moneyline at -235. Thursday afternoon’s regular season opener was an old fashioned slugfest between the NL West rivals. Yu Darvish made his debut for the Padres, but got knocked around for four earned runs and eight hits in 4.2 innings pitched.
We shouldn’t expect Snell to get knocked around Friday night, who had a solid Spring Training. The former Tampa Bay Rays ace was a perfect 3-0 in five games played with 13 strikeouts in 14 innings pitched. Also we cannot expect for Fernando Tatis Jr. and Manny Machado to be held to a combined 1-10 performance, which was the case on Opening Day. Tatis Jr. is 5-11 with three home runs and five RBIs in 11 plate appearances against the Diamondbacks’ starter.
