The Los Angeles Lakers (30-18) have found themselves falling in the standings recently, going 5-5 in their last 10 games while currently sitting in fourth place in the Western Conference. They’ll head to the north to take on the Sacramento Kings (22-26) in hopes of a win against a lesser Western Conference opponent. This kicks off a seven-game road trip for the Lakers, who will have to navigate the rest of the season without LeBron James who’s out indefinitely with an ankle sprain.
Lakers vs. Kings, 10:00 p.m. ET, NBA League Pass
Pick ATS: Kings -5
I don’t think it’s any surprise that the Lakers aren’t favored to win this one. In addition to James being sidelined, they’ll also be without Anthony Davis (calf), Andre Drummond (toe), and Wesley Matthews (neck) is also listed as questionable. Not to mention the Kings have been playing really well lately, stringing together a five-game winning streak before it was snapped with a 106-120 loss to the Spurs earlier this week. A win tonight would make it six straight home wins for Sacramento. They’ve still got a long way to go to get back in the playoff hunt, but it’s something they’ll look to get closer toward against the Lakers tonight. Sacramento has covered the spread in six of their last nine games.
Player Prop: De’Aaron Fox O1.5 three-pointers (-139)
This one’s a no-brainer if you’re looking for a safe bet. Fox has hit at least two three-pointers in four of his last five games, while only draining one in their loss against the Spurs. He’s not known to be a prolific scorer from beyond the arc, but can be counted on for at least a couple each time he sees the floor.
