Moneyline pick: Blue Jays -105
The run line for Tuesday night’s AL East contest is set at -1.5, with the Blue Jays favored on the road. But the Red Sox are favored on the moneyline at -112. Both teams are coming off long four-game series which featured a doubleheader over the weekend. Boston capped off their four-game set against the White Sox with a dominating 11-6 win. Meanwhile, Toronto lost three out of four to the Kansas City Royals.
Ryu has been solid through his first three starts, posting back-to-back seven strikeout performances. He has a record of 1-1 and ERA of 1.89. The 34-year-old has a 3.00 ERA, and 13 strikeouts in 12.1 IP in two starts against the Red Sox. As for Rodriguez, he has a perfect record 2-0 with an ERA of 3.60 in two starts. In both starts, he has at least gone five innings and recorded a combined 12 strikeouts, four earned runs in 10 IP. He has not played well against Toronto with a record of 4-4 and 4.64 ERA in 14 games. Rodriguez has allowed a team-high 15 home runs to the Blue Jays, which is less than ideal.
Player Prop: Hyun Jin-Ryu O4.5 strikeouts (-167)
There’s a lot of juice on this player prop, but if there’s a pitcher who can slow down this Red Sox offense its Ryu. The Blue Jays’ ace has gone over his player prop in all three starts this season, which includes two games against the New York Yankees. In 2019 against the Red Sox, Ryu had six strikeouts in 7.0 IP. Last season, he went over 4.5 strikeouts in nine out of 12 starts.
