Pick against the spread, best player prop for Hornets vs. Knicks on Tuesday

We go over some of the best betting options for Tuesday’s matchup between the Charlotte Hornets and New York Knicks.

The New York Knicks carry the longest winning streak in the NBA, and they will go for their seventh straight victory when they host the Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday, April 20th. The Knicks climbed up to a 31-27 record, which is tied for the fifth best record in the Eastern Conference and just a half-game out of fourth place. The Hornets snapped a four-game losing streak on Sunday as they moved to 28-28 for eighth place in the East as they continue to battle a significant number of injuries to their top players.

New York will be without Alec Burks, who is in the NBA health and safety protocols and missed each of the last two games. Charlotte will continue to be without at least three of their top five scorers with Gordon Hayward, LaMelo Ball and Malik Monk out with injuries. Devonte’ Graham is the team’s fourth leading scorer and missed the last two games with a quad injury, and his availability is uncertain for Tuesday. P.J. Washington returned to the lineup on Sunday.

Hornets vs. Knicks, 7:30 p.m. ET, NBA League Pass

Pick ATS: Knicks -5.5 (-110)

It’s difficult to bet on the Hornets with any type of confidence this point with how much talent they have unavailable to play. They covered the spread for the first time in five games in their last time out, but we’re going with the Knicks in this spot. New York has covered in nine consecutive games, and there’s no reason to think that should change at home against Charlotte on Tuesday night.

Player Prop: Julius Randle O2.5 3-pointers (-141)

There is not a better team for Julius Randle to let it fly from three-point range against than Charlotte. The Hornets allow the most attempted 3-pointers in the NBA, and they give up the most made threes as well. Randle averages 2.1 made 3-pointers per game and 5.2 attempts, but both of those numbers should increase in this 3-pointer friendly matchup. He is averaging nine three-point attempts in his last three games and if he does that, he’s knocking down at least three with ease.
