Moneyline pick, best player prop for Yankees vs. Indians on Thursday

The New York Yankees and Cleveland Indians will begin a four-game set at 6:10 p.m. ET Thursday night. The Yankees are coming into this game off a 4-1 loss to the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday. New York has also lost four out of last five games and two straight on the road. Cleveland is entering the four-game series off of a 8-5 loss to the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday.

Moneyline pick: Indians -108

The run line for Thursday evening’s contest is set at -1.5, with the Yankees favored on the road. But the moneyline is locked at even money (-108) for both teams. New York has not played great baseball this season, despite having a lineup loaded with competent hitters. They are only hitting .205 and averaging 3.47 runs per game, which puts them just above the likes of the Detroit Tigers, Washington Nationals, and New York Mets. In their last five games, the Yankees are only averaging 1.8 runs per game.

As for the Indians, their offense isn’t any better as they are only hitting .209 this season. But they have an edge on Thursday with Aaron Civale on the mound. Civale has a record of 3-0 with an ERA of 2.18. He also has recorded 16 strikeouts in 20.2 innings pitched. In his only start against the Yankees in 2019, Civale allowed eight hits, two earned runs, two walks, but struck out four in 6.0 IP. Civale is more trustworthy on the mound than German and his 9.00 ERA this season.

Player Prop: Franmil Reyes to hit a home run (+400)

It would’ve been easy to pick the strikeout props for this contest, but we are going to go out on a limb. German has struggled on the mound this season for the Yankees and just got recalled after being assigned. He has allowed four home runs, three which have come off right-handed hitters. Righties are also hitting .389/.421/.944 against German. As for Reyes, he’s slugging .273 with four home runs and nine RBI. The designated hitter has hit three of his four home runs off of right-handed pitching.
